Support Autism Experiences Wellington (AEW)
Autism Experiences Wellington (AEW) is a parent-led charitable trust delivering safe, welcoming, and inclusive experiences for autistic children and their families in the Wellington region. Every dollar we receive directly supports our programmes and events. Keeping these experiences accessible relies on a mix of funding sources and community support.
Donations
Donations help us meet the day-to-day costs of running our programmes, including venue hire, staffing, resources, and transport. Every contribution helps us: continue offering AEW experiences
keep family costs as low as possible
respond flexibly to the needs of participants

For families with children and teens wanting to take part in AEW events, membership also provides some great benefits.
Membership costs $69 per year and includes:
- Priority booking for AEW programmes and activities
- Eligibility to attend our Holiday Programme (financial membership is required due to high demand)
- Discounts on selected AEW activities
To join, simply email: treasurer@autismexperiences.org.nz
For Grant Funders
Autism Experiences Wellington partners with grant funders and charitable trusts to deliver inclusive, community-based programmes for autistic children, young people, and their families across the Wellington region.
Grant funding supports core programmes such as our Holiday Programmes and weekly Gym sessions and is applied directly to programme delivery. As a volunteer-run charitable trust, we prioritise accessibility, high levels of care, and responsive programme design. Funding enables AEW to offer:
Proven demand and impact, with programmes that families rely on and return to
Community-led programmes that are designed and governed by parents and caregivers with lived experience
Inclusive, high-care environments, with strong staff-to-child ratios and a focus on safety and wellbeing
Autism Experiences Wellington holds Te Kahui Kahu Social Sector Accreditation (Level 3), demonstrating our compliance with health, safety, governance, and operational requirements. We are happy to provide clear, transparent reporting on the use of funds and the outcomes achieved in order to demonstrate
Direct use of funding for programme delivery, supported by a volunteer-run operating model
Clear accountability, including transparent reporting on funding use and outcomes
